One Week Later...

Vijay is sound asleep in his bassinet and I get to spend some time with the computer to update all of you...life finally seems coming back to normal but we continue to enjoy looking at our little son and say to each other how cute he is. We came back from the hospital on Saturday evening and our little Vijay cried a whole lot during those first few days. Nursing him was a challenge and we as new parents got a little anxious. I had a friend from church visit me and encourage me to be persistent about nursing him and so did Vijay's paediatrician. So thankful for God's providence!!!

I didn't realize how cold you get after delivering a baby. One night I got so cold and my body shook wildly and tensed up. In that process I hurt my neck. Nursing puts lot of strain on my neck so I'm thankful for the pain medication that my doctor's prescribed which is useful for both my C-section and my neck.

Thank you for all your wishes and sharing our excitement of our gift from the Lord. Many friends have helped out with meals, dishes, laundry, groceries etc. We are so thankful for our brothers and sisters in Christ who share such love and care. It has been a very hard time this last week but God's grace was truly sufficient. My husband is a constant source of comfort and I'm truly blessed to have him in my life. Midnight feedings or diaper changes or holding a fussy baby all seems like a lighter load to carry when he is awake to be there for me. We truly enjoyed this week of nesting and settling down. God's timing is perfect to give us this time as a family.

My parents arrive on Monday from India. We are excited to see them; please pray for their travel since it is their first international travel. So here are some pictures of our baby from his first week.

vijay is SO cute. He's already got pudgy cheeks.

I remember feeling very overwhelmed the first week as well. Jaida slept well during the day but not at nights. If you are consistent to put them on a schedule eventually they will LEARN to be good sleepers. And I think breastfeeding for most moms is painful and difficult, but Jaida and I are pros now. =) It just takes time.

Thanks for updating your site, I'll be getting your gift in the mail soon. How I wish I could hold Vijay, but I am glad your parents will be able to.

He is a beautiful baby (ok, so I'm just a little biased with that opinion) :-) We have much to be thankful for-I am glad you are feeling better and I will add my encouragement here to persevere in the nursing-it will be worth it! God has truly blessed us- Praise To the Lord! Keeping you all in our prayers as your parents come to visit-what a wonderful time that will be!

He is so so precious. Thank you for updating what is going on. We will be praying for you guys. I remember it was so difficult and very overwhelmed the first week as well. Caleb did sleep very good nights and wake up one time like he does now, but he did not sleep at all during the days. I could not get done anything in my house. As Daniella said, they will eventually sleep through the nights if you are cosistent to put them on a schedule. Caleb sleeps 7 to 8 hours. He also eats every 3 hours now. Breast feeding can be very challenging for first few weeks, but eventually you will be a pro and time of feeding will be 5-10 mins each time you feed Vijay. The verse which helped me so much during difficult few weeks was Philippians Chapter 1-4. It will pass the overwhelming few weeks. Remember God knows what you have been going through. He is your joy. We will be praying for you. Also you will have a great time with your family!!

Hey,
please don't put glasses on Vijay, 'cause I won't be able tell him from Cameron.
