My parents arrived safely yesterday and are recovering from jet lag and cold. My mom is constantly unpacking and bringing me stuff she brought from India. They are just beginning to enjoy their stay and learning all kinds of new things about life here. My dad says he could write a book with all the things he is learning and watching.
Cameron is back to work today and little Vijay is doing well. He eats every three hours and sleeps well. We just had a doctor's appointment this morning for him because he has not regained his birth weight yet. He is supposed to regain his birth weight in two to three weeks. He weighs 5 pounds and 12 ounces now and he needs to be 6 pounds and 3 ounces. I am enjoying being a mom and thankful for the quick healing of my body. My neck pain is gone too so I'm off pain medication now. Praise the Lord!

What a handsome little son! We are praying for you!
Glad to hear your parents arrived safely. Looks like a sweet boy, what a blessing that he seems to be settling in. Don't worry about the weight gain to much, just eat lots of fatty foods like avocados and that will help. Know that we're praying for you all.

What wonderful news to hear that you're feeling lots better and now your parents are here to help with little Vijay.
I put Jaida on a 3 hour schedule right away and it worked great!
How long your parents are going to stay in U.S? We love to meet them if you guys can. Caleb needed to gain weight after his first appointment so his doctor told me that he will gain weight by eating every 2 hours. I changed his feeding time to every 2 hours, then every 2 and hal hours. Now I only feed him every 3 hours. So he gained up to 12 pound quickly in 2 months.
Hopefully this will help.
Yeah, Jo! I'm glad your neck is feeling better!!! Similar to Akemi's comment, my doctor wanted Luke to gain weight faster also, so suggested I go to 2-1/2 hours instead of 3, like I had started to do. :)
Great news Jo that you are doing well and that your family arrived safely. Enjoy your time with them... it will be really special :)
Same as Akemi & Sarah, Aiden also gained weight slowly in the beginning and the Doc said I needed to feed him every 2 1/2 hours for a couple weeks. He soon caught up and look at him now... he's a little chunker and it's all mama's milk :)
what fun you'll all have to have your parents there! Post some pics when you can of your family! I'm so glad you are feeling better and off the pain meds!!!
Jo-
I hope your parents have a wonderful visit!! Thanks for posting more pics of the little guy--we have been offline b/c of our move and I was dying to see them. :-D
We would like to give you guys a call sometime and talk about Christmas plans (and just catch up). What's a good time?
