Full Story with Pictures!

Daddy cutting the cord few moments after delivery / Mommy looking at Tirzah for the first time / We have had the same nurse for both Vineetha's and Tirzah's deliveries; here she is holding our little girl after she was all bathed and ready to go

My C-section was scheduled for 7:30 AM, but we had to wait for more than an hour after all the IVs had been hooked up because the doctor who was assisting my doctor was busy delivering another baby. So I finally walked to the surgery room around 9. I was more fearful and nervous about this delivery than the last two and it made me sad to think that I won't be able to see my kids for two days. While I was waiting, God provided excellent encouragement through different means. Cameron was very patient with me and did his best to encourage me through out the whole process. I tried to call my parents but I couldn't get through. Then my phone beeped with a picture/txt msg from Anita. She took a picture of Vineetha sleeping in her arms and sent it. It made me so happy to see it. Then Cameron got the computer out so I could use it. Georgia was online so we chatted for a little bit. It really helped to be distracted. Anyway, I had a very good anesthesiologist and she even gave me something to prevent nausea for up to 6 hours after the surgery. After few minutes of intense discomfort, we heard the doctor announce the arrival of a baby girl. We were pleasantly surprised.

Naomi was my first and my only visitor at the hospital / Tirzah with a very tired Mommy and Daddy / Sleepy Tirzah!

The two days at the hospital were so good. The doctor took my concerns about getting back onto solid foods ASAP seriously and ordered my medications accordingly. My IV and the hook ups were all off and I had REAL FOOD by Saturday night. All the nurses were so pleasant and extremely helpful. I really enjoyed my stay at the hospital this time.

Anita took excellent care of Vijay and Vineetha during the two days we were gone and I'm so thankful for her friendship and amazed at how God provided for those two days. She had just finished her semester and took Friday off to be with Vijay and Vineetha.

Vijay is very tender to his little sister but Vineetha doesn't really know what to do with this tiny little baby yet.

Her first night at home in her own bassinet, and lots of cuddle-time with Mommy!

Oops, that was me who deleted...I clicked too soon before I had even finished my comment. Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures and reading the full story. I think I might know that "other doctor" who made you wait? So sorry that you had to wait, but good to hear of God's provision in a trying time. I really wish I could have visited you in the hospital...silly sick germs. :-( Hopefully, soon we'll be all well and can stop by.
(Oh, and I couldn't help but read Anita's comment about next year. hee hee :-))

Anita sent this email after reading the blog post: "Checked your blog, and it's cute. Thought I'd let you know that when I took the picture of Vineetha - I'd been thinking about you, and praying, and was concerned. Prayed that they would not keep you waiting long, and then decided to take a picture of Vineetha. I wanted to send it to you, but had never done that before. So I fussed with my phone 'til I got it 'sent'. I would have given up, but somehow just had to send you a picture to comfort you, and to encourage you. God knew, and compelled my heart to do that. Amazing the attention to detail ... His eye is on the sparrow."

Very cool to hear the other side of the story about how Anita was prompted to send the pic. I almost teared up reading it. :-) Very special.

So glad you were able to have some distraction and this visit was better than the last. I'll continue to pray for your recovery and Tirzah's strength.

Praying for you Jo! Rest, rest, rest as much as you can, and take advantage of Daddy being home!!
I love the picture of all three of them...I wish we could get one with Aliza, too! I think Tirzah looks a little like Aliza in some of these pics...it's the cute little cheekies!
Thanks for the pictures!
