From Singapore

12/14/06 Here we are sitting in Singapore airport at 3AM. We got here at 12 AM and checked for hotel room availablity but its all booked. So here we are. Cam went around the airport and found Burger King so we ate burger with turkey (no bacon). Cameron is trying to sleep on the floor behind me. Neither of us got much sleep on the plane. Our flight was smooth with lots of food and movies. We watched Lady in the water, Invincible, Superman Returns( I didn’t watch the whole movie). I also watched Crash while he watched some Bristish Sci Fi movie. We read a little bit too. We stopped in Tokyo for an hour and by the time we got back on the plane, we were so tired and slept for the rest of the flight except for eating and drinking. As we were sitting here, we saw a big group of Muslims going somewhere. I met a Sri Lankan lady from Burbank (Bernadine) and she knows Pushparajah family. Two muslim ladies from that group are sitting next to me and said they are from Bangladesh. That is all we could communicate. She keeps staring at me and trying to talk but I have no clue what she is saying to me. Sad times!

12/16/06 We are sitting here at my aunt's place because they have internet and fresh cool breeze. Stepping into this country was chaotic. Every body wanted to help with the luggage for dollars because of a white guy with me. We came out of the airport in Hyderabad and none of my friends showed up and the hotel we asked a friend to reserve for us was not reserved and we drove in a crazy old car going from one hotel to another and finally found one. We didn't even care to eat dinner and went to sleep. I could finally get a hold of one friend and she decides to check up on us and waited for an hour and we missed each other because we couldn't hear the phone ring and we didn't open the door fearing that it was someone bugging us. Oh what a crazy night. We felt much better that morning and went for a walk and got some money from an ATM. It was smooth sailing from then on. We show up in Vizag airport and there is nobody waiting for us in Vizag airport because of miscommunication. Finally my cousin Vijay showed up and then my brother Sam with his wife Suma. My family was very happy to see us and we had a busy day with visitors and relatives visiting. We went to the beach in the evening and walked for some time in the evening. I woke up very early and couldn't fall asleep. So I went and woke up my brother Jayakar and we chatted a little bit. Cam, Jayakar and I went up to the beach and enjoyed beautiful sunrise. Today we went shopping. My dad gave us some money to buy clothes for the wedding. It was hard to find Cam's size of clothes but we finally found one and I bought a sari too. Cam is explaining baseball to my cousin now so I better pay attention so I can follow the game.

Wow! Sounds like your traveling was pretty chaotic! Is it usually that way traveling internationally? I'm glad you arrived safely and can now spend time with your family. :)
