Deeds of Love and Mercy

 Yesterday, the third Sunday in January churches continue to recognize it as Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, closest to the anniversary of Roe V. Wade.

The pastor spoke on valuing what God values highly. The animals and birds are His creation and are valued very highly. We, His creation, made in His own image, are much more valuable. No matter what stage of life, from the smallest baby in the womb to the 'almost dead' person, God calls us to love and care for them. Caring for widows and orphans is valuing what God values. It is right for us to weep, filled with compassion for our cities, for our orphans and widows.

Yesterday afternoon I finished reading the autobiography of George Mueller and amazed at how God used him to care for the orphans and the Lord brought many into His kingdom. May the Lord raise up many fathers like him in our generation. 

Later that evening my dear friend sent me a txt that she delivered her fourth baby, a boy, into this world. May the Lord bless this baby boy, born this Sunday, to flourish like a forest and be a faithful prophet like Isaiah.
