Growth

Both Vijay and Vineetha had their yearly checkups earlier this month but I never got around to posting it on the blog. So here it is:

Vijay had his appointment on Oct. 20th and he was one busy boy as we waited for the doctor to show up. As the doctor walked in, however, he became very shy and quickly sat in my lap with his face turned away from the doctor. He is 36 3/4" tall, which puts him in the 95th percentile. The nurse had to make him stand up to measure his height because he is now too big to lay down on the table. He weighed in at 30.2 lbs., which puts him in the 75th percentile and his head circumference is 51cm, which is back in the 95th percentile.

Both the kids have had colds over the past couple months and Vijay had a very rough night recently, waking up every half hour crying and finally settling down on the couch with Mommy in the early hours of the morning. Just imagine how uncomfortable it was to hold 30lb boy with my pregnant tummy. I was so glad that Cameron took half the following day off and helped me with our sick kids.

Vijay still doesn't talk too much except for a few words here and there. His favorite word now is 'Okay' and we are just beginning to realize how often we say that word. His favorite activity of the day is to watch buses, trucks and cars through our living room window. He faithfully drinks his milk but still isn't too interested in his food. He enjoys bringing the Bible and hymnals from the book shelf for family prayer and puts them back after.

Vineetha's checkup was on Oct. 1st and she weighed in at 19 lbs. 13 ozs., which puts her in the 30th percentile. She doesn't look too tall, but she measured 3o" putting her in the 80th percentile. Her head is 45cm and puts her in the 50th percentile. Overall she is healthy and strong.

Vineetha just started walking on Oct. 27th, which puts her exactly a month ahead of Vijay (he started walking on Thanksgiving day last year). She loves to give lots of kisses to Daddy, Mommy and her brother. She sleeps 12 hours during nights and takes only one nap during the day. She is a good eater and has no problem eating her food and drinking her milk. Her first word was also 'Amen' just like Vijay. She just surprised us one night as Cameron finished praying with them before bed time. I think she is also saying 'more' when she is ready for her next bite. One of her favorite thing to do is to turn on the music on the swing so there is music as long as she is awake. It looks like she is finally getting her front top teeth just this week.

Savage Indian Baby #3 is growing steadily as well. I was very glad to hear that I passed the initial glucose test, so I don't have to take the dreadful 2nd test. My tummy is measuring 29 cm at 29 weeks and I have gained five more pounds. I was glad to hear the baby's heartbeat one more time too. I'm enjoying very frequent kicks and all kinds of movements of the baby. I'm beginning to get uncomfortable to be in one position for too long but God is giving me grace for each day to take care of all three kids and I'm very thankful. I even get to take a short nap when the kids nap during the day.

November will be a busy month for us as we will be moving to a slightly bigger apartment and getting ready for our little one to arrive just before Christmas. We have an ultrasound appointment coming up on the 4th so I'll know more details about the C-section at that point.

Here's Vijay climbing the hay bales at Lombardi Ranch a few weeks ago:

And here's Vineetha taking some of her first steps:

So fun, Jo!! I can't believe she is walking already. Hope that the move goes well and that you have lots of help. You need to be putting your feet up right about now :)
