Changes!

Thomas came to visit us before he went to Germany.

Vijay got a quick bath in the kitchen sink, probably for the last time :)

Iris Grace visited us in all her cuteness.

Luke celebrated his birthday on the 28th at his grandparents' home and we enjoyed a fun get-together. We got to see Matt and Tara and their three little ones after a long time. It was fun to catch up and see everybody again.

Vijay is growing fast--people ask me if he is 18 months old instead of 9. As days go by we get to experience each new thing that he does and we enjoy our little boy a lot. We got him a new car seat a couple of weeks ago (above picture). He has definitely learned to communicate 'No' (not verbally) when he is done with his food or doesn't want to drink his milk. He will close his mouth or start getting fussy or just push the bottle away; he has been doing this for at least a month or more so we have new challenges in the training arena. He normally eats pretty good as long as his Momma will give him a distraction like a little toy of some sort. A couple days ago, he was throwing pieces of bread on the floor so I said 'No' and he looked at his dad to find comfort and got the same stern 'No'. Once he was able to tell from dad's face that he wasn't kidding, he fell apart and started crying. It was so cute to watch him do that and we were both holding back our laughs while we were doing this. I'm sure this won't be very funny in the near future. He is teething again (since last week of June) and we see a tiny upper front tooth sticking out now. He is rolling over all over the place now and wont stay still in his crib if he doesn't want to sleep. We lowered the crib mattress one notch down because we noticed him grabbing onto the pad and trying to pull himself up. Often I find him sleeping on his tummy or on his side.

Along with all the developments, last week he got his first real cold, too, and he was miserable. He had a very runny nose and lots of sneezing and of course he didn't like having his nose wiped. He did not want to take his naps or drink his milk. He did not even sleep in his crib for the night. We had to settle him down in the swing so he can first fall asleep before we moved him to his crib. Last night he did cough a few times and woke us up and eventually ended up in his swing until the morning. It sure reminds me to be thankful that God protected Vijay all these months from getting sick. Not only that, I am reminded to be thankful for our little boy who generally sleeps well and eats well. I hope and pray that he will return to his normal nap times and eating. Times like these make me realize how dependent on God truly I am. How often I took these things for granted! Today he didn't nap at all except the short nap in the car on our way back from church. We are quite shocked that he stayed up all day without a good nap. We are finally laying him down for the night and getting ready to watch Gettysburg :)

Since Vijay was still recovering from his cold, we decided not to do anything much except go see the fireworks at the mall for the fourth of July.

We did go to the local parade in town but the big sounds scared Vijay so we only stayed there for half hour.

In the evening we enjoyed the company of David, Rebecca, little Rachel and Rebecca's parents. We had Stonefire barbecue for dinner and all went out to see the fireworks together. It was a fun time.

And now for the BIG change as we have already emailed some of you...

Changes come at unexpected points in life and we are at one of those points. There has been some recent restructuring of the computer department at the college where Cameron works, which includes the dissolution of Cameron's position there, with the end result that we have two months to find a new job [this was as of June 13th]. So, his last day will be August 15th (barring quick success in our search) and we are praying and pursuing opportunities to find a new job. We are excited about this new chapter in our life, but it certainly introduces a number of uncertainties. I am disappointed that I might need to find a new doctor for my second delivery, but for now God's sovereign hand in our lives in the biggest comfort and strength. Please pray for us as we begin this new adventure! Oh, and if you come across any opportunities for a computer-related job, let us know.

It's fun to see how much Vijay is growing. Taeya too has her first cold with similar sleeping/eating results. It's so sad to see her sick. I'll be praying for the job changes.

Thanks for such a great update, Jo! It was fun to read all the that you have been up to:) Sorry, about Vijay being sick. It really is hard isn't it? They are so helpless. What a blessing he has such wonderful parents to care for him!
We are praying for the Lord to guide you as Cameron looks for a new job and for all the details! Miss you!

That is the one constant about this life, it changes. Sorry to here about the job it is tough, but the Lords hands are in our lives directing us even if we don't know why or where we may be going. Marc and I have had many twists and turns that were not expected, but such a blessing. I know that you and Cam will be blessed in this too. Love you Stacie

Vijay is growing fast and he does look like such a big boy in his new car seat. I love the picture of him in the kithen sink. I did that one day with Jaida and it was a blast!
